About

WHY ‘OUR FUTURE LEADERS’ SITE?

This site is to assist us to review how we can assist our young people to gain the skills to become communicators and leaders.

  • Discuss how to help them to gain critical skills.

  • Enable them to be successful in the rapidly changing world.

  • As they enter adulthood they will need these critical ‘soft’ skills to survive.

  • You can have an extremely positive impact on them through group sessions.

  • You can enable them to gain communication and leadership skills.

  • The key is the self-confidence that they gain from working as a group.

For over a decade I have been working with youth. It is this experience that have caused me to realize that there is even more we can do.

We can help them prepare for their futures.

Here is one of my favourite quotations.

One Hundred Years from Now
(excerpt from “Within My Power” by Forest Witcraft)

One hundred years from now
It will not matter
What kind of car I drove,
What kind of house I lived in,
How much money was in my bank account,
Nor what my clothes looked like.
But the world may be a better place because
I was important in the life of a child.

  1. Hi Fred Like you I spent many years working with teens, myself, with Junior Achievement and Scouting,
I too am concerned as I see my grandchildren go through the school system without having an appreciation of what “learning” really should mean to them.
The current curriculum appears to be so shallow.
Leadership entails face to face experience, not what we see so often today – kids of all ages glued to their ipads/cell phones/computer games.
I am a bit distant from your immediate area of operation. but if I can assist somehow, give me a jingle. FASTEDDY

  2. I too believe that we should be training kids to communicate, lead, and work with others. We need to have Clubs or Classes in schools showing the kids by doing. I first learn to give speeches in school.
